Envisioned as a celebration of the design and engineering of automobiles, Marin Sonoma Concours d'Elegance showcased car technology from the past, present, and future. One of the most successful incarnations of the show occurred in 2009. Held on the Marin Civic Center Fairgrounds, the Marin Sonoma Concours d'Elegance put 180 antique and mint-condition cars on display.
The 180 cars on display were spread across numerous special exhibits, each bearing a distinctive theme. Curves, Elegance, and Speed - Our Cars of 1929 showcased a selection of cars produced in America and overseas. Another exhibit featured alternative-energy vehicles, while a third called attention to cars driven by celebrities.
The 2009 Marin Sonoma Concours d'Elegance took place on May 17, a Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event was a benefit for Hospice By The Bay.
